SLC Greek Festival and Dianne Reeves Concert...

I don't know if you've noticed but Nate treats me like a freaking princess!
(He always says "That's because you are one!" and 99.99% of the time he sincerely means it! Other times... well let's just say that I am the youngest child.. need I say more?)

Anyway, so I'm married to the sweetest man ever! And he takes me on dates ALL the time!
I am so lucky!

Today's adventure included a trip to the Salt Lake City Greek festival and the Dianne Reeves concert and even though it was super hot, it didn't stop us from getting our fill of Greek food!

Lamb on the spit... Head still attached..
I can't say I've seen that before (or maybe I blocked out that childhood memory...)

Labor Day Weekend Shennanigans!

We're just finishing up my first Labor Day weekend 2015... (it was really difficult for me to have written labour without the 'u'... That being said, I am transitioning to American life really well; removing one vowel at a time!) and wanted to share a little recap which includes delicious homemade pizza and a moose attack. Yep, you read that right - a moose attack. More about that a little later...

Friday evening came and we realised  it was a holiday weekend... Pizza party time!!! Thanks to our new kitchen mixer, the special guest at our pizza party was a delicious BBQ chicken pizza!

Rockin' America Korean Camp 2015

This year's Rockin' America camp was two weeks of fun!

It was smaller than usual because of an outbreak of M.E.R.S. (Middle Eastern Respiratory Syndrome) in South Korea. Unfortunately enrolments dropped significantly because school had been closed down for two weeks and so those two weeks of school had to go somewhere... how about during summer break?!
Luckily, there were 8 sets of parents who were willing to make it work and get their children over to the States. We were truly blessed that these parents were able to send their children over to experience the States with us!

And so it began..  Nate spent a lot of time on a plane.. Salt Lake City to Los Angeles to Tokyo to Seoul...
SLC to SEOUL

He then made the 2 hour bus ride to the south, he arrived in Chiang Ju (one of his old Mission areas).
Nate was able to catch up with some old friends and members from his mission and our very special friend Kang Myung Oak graciously housed Nate for his time spent in Korea.

Our Wedding! 06-06-2015

So it happened... we tied the knot on June 6th, 2015 and what an amazing day it was!

We started off the day with a nice sleep in! Although, I can't say Nate and I got much sleep since we were at the reception venue until 2 in the morning doing last minute things!
Then I couldn't get to sleep very quickly because, hey! I was getting married in the morning!

Morning of, I was running late and so was Nate.. and Nate forgot his suit jacket! So luckily Laura drove it over to us, lifesaver Laura! All that was left to do before we said 'yes' was for Nate to pick a tie and me to get in to my dress!

We wanted to share with you some of our favourite photos and memories of our special day.

We recently received our incredible wedding video thanks to Krissi Cook!
You can check her out here.

We hope you all like it!!

Birthday Scavenger Hunt: 26 gifts for a 26th birthday...

Hi there!
So the day came, the day I turned 26 years old.
I know I'm not super old but turning 26 made me realise..I am now closer to 30 than I am to 20!
I'm becoming a real adult!

In honour of this occasion, I intended to enjoy this birthday and be grateful that I've made it this far!

I didn't really know how I would feel on this year's birthday; last year I had a few personal struggles not to mention that my birthday fell on Good Friday and so we really didn't celebrate it - It kind of felt like a non-event.

BUT this year has been a year of great change in my life and although I didn't know what to expect from my birthday this year, I thought perhaps maybe something low key and fun?
Well, something I can tell you about Nate is that he definitely knows how to do fun and my birthday definitely wasn't low key!

My birthday fell on a beautiful, sunny Saturday and when it rolled around, Nate arrived on my doorstep... to take me on a SCAVENGER HUNT! It was the sweetest thing anyone's ever done for me! He named the day "26 gifts for the 26th birthday!"

Definitely was not expecting this!

AUSTRALIA 2015 Great Ocean Road Part II

Great Ocean Road, AUS.

DAY TWO
After writing this post, I realised what a long and intensive day we had! I promise you, we did all of this in one day and most of it before 10pm!

We had an early morning start in Port Campbell and we all know it wouldn't be complete for a Utahn without a nice swim in the cold ocean!

We then took a beautiful hike around the area and then headed off on the road to the Arch; it was in an area where on one side, the surf rolls in to the shore and then crashes in and through the Arch - it was a spectacular sight! On the other side, there was a scene that you've probably seen depicted in a lot of paintings that features some really beautiful oceanside cliffs with an amazing red hue and the waves rolling in and crashing on to the rock face. We were constantly being amazed by the beauty of nature.

Our next stop was London Bridge, aptly named because this particular formation jutted out into the ocean and had two arches. A little while back, the middle arch collapsed while two people were on the outermost edge leaving them marooned (because after the collapse, they were technically on an island!). Don't worry though, they were rescued by helicopter and the formation still retains its name! (and of couse, the nursery rhyme gets stuck in your head!)
